HISTORY
Built in 1855 by "Colonel Daniel Reynolds" the original estate encompassed 1400 acres, which the Colonel operated with the aid of his 15 slaves. It was owned and lived in by the Reynolds family into the early 1970's. Fred & Helen Faber purchased the house and its remaining 4 acres of grounds in 1977. Time and weather had taken it's toll, but it never lost it's charm. Fred quit the corporation and it's security blanket and they moved from Minnesota in 1981 to restore the mansion and open it as
an Inn. Eighteen months later in the fall
of 1982, after doing all the work themselves their dream had become a reality.
In the summer of 2003 Fred lost his 14 year battle with Leukemia, but
Helen continues to run the Inn and to improve the mansion and grounds.
